THE EVENT
When is the Big Bear Turkey Trot?
Big Bear Turkey Trot will take place on Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 25, 2021. Packet pick up opens at 7 a.m.
How Do I register for Big Bear Turkey Trot?
You can register online HERE or at our Packet Pick Wednesday (4-7PM) or Thursday (race day). Registration will end when we reach capacity. Sign-up early!
 
PRE-EVENT PACKET PICK UP
Two Options:

#1 - Wednesday, November 24, 4-7PM. Big Bear Lake, CA.
 
#2 - Thursday, November 25 at the Event site, from 7AM-9AM. Meadow Park, 41220 Park Ave, Big Bear Lake, CA.
 
When and where can I pick up my race bib and items?
You can pick up your race items at our pre-race packet pick up or you can pick them up on race morning, beginning at 7 a.m.

What do I need to bring with me to pick up my race packet?
For Packet Pick Up, you must present the confirmation email or photo ID.  Your confirmation email is sent to you when you register. If you are picking up a packet for a friend or family member, be sure to have a photo of their ID on your phone or a hard copy AND a screenshot/printout of their confirmation email.

THE RACE & COURSE
Can I walk or do I have to run the entire distance?
Walkers welcome. Just come out and have some fun with us!

Are there age/division awards?
YES! The top 3 in each age division for all distances will receive awards.

Are strollers allowed on the course?
YES! Thanksgiving is all about family. If your child would like to receive a t-shirt, medal, and bib, they must be registered.

Are dogs allowed on the course?
No, sorry our insurance policy prohibits pets on the course.

Are there restrooms at the event?
YES! There are portable toilets and a hand wash station.

Is there a place to put my belongings while I race?
No. If you bring valuables, we recommend carrying them in a small bag with you on the run.

PARKING
Where do I park?
Parking is available in the Meadow Park lot next to Swim Beach and on City streets. You must follow all posted parking signs. Do not block driveways or park on private property. Thank you for your cooperation.

Can I volunteer?
YES! Please send an email to bigbearturkeytrot@gmail.com!

Can I ride my scooter, skateboard or bike?
NO. For safety reasons, please keep these items off the course.

Where can I find race results?
Race results can be found HERE.

I didn't stay for the Awards Ceremony. Can you ship my award?
Unfortunately we are not able to mail awards (or swag). 
 
How much does the event cost to enter?
Entry fees can be found at our WEBSITE  at https://www.bigbearturkeytrot.com/about.html. Your fee for the Big Bear Turkey Trot covers all Big Bear Turkey Trot race and administrative expenses. To support the Bear Valley food banks, please consider adding an additional donation to your payment when you register for the race.
 
What if I registered and change my mind or I’m unable to attend the race, can I get a refund?
Registration Policy – Big Bear Turkey Trot does not authorize refunds at any time, NO EXCEPTIONS.
 
No Show Policy – Big Bear Turkey Trot does not authorize refunds at any time. Included registration items such as medals, t-shirts, and hats will not be mailed to participants who do not participate in the event they signed up for.
 
Public Safety Policy – If an Act of God/Community Disaster/Severe Weather Event/Emergency/Other Issue of Public Safety occurs, what happens?
1. We make decisions based on safety first.
2. The municipality will also make a decision.
3. The Big Bear Turkey Trot cannot accept the risk of a postponement or cancellation for everyone. Each athlete needs to accept the risk of his or her entry fee. There will be NO REFUNDS. The money you paid is spent developing that race.

Why? We do not save any money if the race is cancelled or you choose not run. We have paid for every supply and service needed for that race. We pay for all race supplies or services associated with the race, regardless of the outcome. These include paying for permits, event production expenses, administration costs, and promised donations to our food pantry charities.
